This technology can be thought of simply as a “Secret Sauce” – that is customized to the need of the client/manufacturer.
The “Secret Sauce” then gets integrated into their factory workflow to enhance productivity of biomolecules at scale.

SAL BIOSCIENCES Pvt Ltd (Sal BioSc), is a Bangalore, India based bio-tech venture working on developing a new evolution in bio-manufacturing by harnessing the power of carefully Engineered Light-Pulsing on biological media. Our Technology can generate potential IP Assets that can magnify Production & Yields in High-Value Pharmaceuticals as well as AgTech applications.

Need for our Technology

40% of all generic and high value drug molecules are extracted from natural sources such as plants, fungi, bacteria etc. through a process called fermentation. Since this uses natural raw materials, the yields are not consistent, leading to sharp changes in availability and rates of the finished product. By using this technology as an add-on, the low-yields of specific molecules can be alleviated, thereby improving profit-margins for the industry (in some cases) and bringing down the cost of drugs to the consumer (in other cases). Simply put, our technology makes drug manufacturing and acquiring, cheaper and more sustainable.

The TESSERACT Workflow - is a patent-pending technology that generate high-throughtput data on how light stimulus changes the biochemical expression patterns in plants and animal cell types. Using this complex data, our specialized algorithm can identify causal pattern relationships that influence the synthesis of important biomolecules.

We are using this technology to generate high-value datasets on improving yields of industrially important extracts and biomolecules!

Why Spectral Optimization?

Out technology works on the principle of Photo-Bio-Modulation. This means, light impulses (especially between 330nm to 880nm) have a very specific effect on different chemical reactions going on in the cells (Plants, Animals, Bacteria, Fungi etc.). So, in theory, if we can identify which combinations of light, in which intensity, can trigger which group of chemical reactions in the cell, then, theoretically we can identify an optimal combination (recipe) that can trigger/activate one particular chemical reaction of interest. By harnessing this effect, we can create a new method in which we can enhance chemical reactions in industrial settings to maximize yields. We have developed the tesseract workflow which can generate this kind of datasets and optimal solutions for (almost) any given drug molecule problem statement.

Our technology is the Most Sustainable add-on that can significant improve yields in factory settings.
